Costs for finished basements or lower levels can vary depending on what your plans are for the space. However, for a benchmark, you can expect to pay around $25-$30 per square foot in construction for a basic finished basement or finished lower level (one large room of about 1,000 square feet, for example). Dollars can fluctuate based on material costs at the time you finish your basement. The basic price typically includes framing, electric, insulation and sheetrock. Bathrooms, wet-bars, wine cellars, media rooms, bedrooms, egress and other options are priced separately and can be included with your custom quote as needed.
